Medication Dosing

CALL THE OFFICE IF YOUR CHILD IS LESS THAN 3 MONTHS OF AGE BEFORE GIVING ANY MEDICATIONS
​DO NOT mix medications with the same components
DO NOT give your child ASPIRIN
DO NOT alternate medications without first consulting our office

Use your child’s weight NOT age to select the dose
When giving the infant’s or children’s suspension, shake well before using
Check the concentration (strength) of the acetaminophen product before each use
Motrin/Ibuprofen & Benadryl/Diphenhydramine- DO NOT give if child is under 6 months of age
Motrin/Ibuprofen & Benadryl/Diphenhydramine- Dosages can be repeated every 6-8 hrs. DO NOT give more than 4 doses in 24 hour period
Tylenol/Acetaminophen- Dosages can be repeated every 4-6 hrs. DO NOT give more than 5 doses in 24 hour period
